POEM STARTER
Write a poem that only involves dialogue.
Remember dialogue has to be between two or more people; it cannot be a monologue. Try to make it clear which voice is speaking when.
Who (the not so poem poem)
“Who are you?” asks a snail.
“I don’t know,” replies the frog.
“What do you mean you don’t know? Don’t you know who you are?”
“I don’t. I don’t know much about me, I just know I can jump and that I come from very far.” Frog says.
“But, you’ve lived with yourself for a long time, Frog,” says Snail, “have you not figured out the smallest details about you?”
“I’ve only learned what I’ve been told by the others,” Frog replied, “I don’t know if they tell the truth, I’ve been told and called so many things I don’t know who I am anymore. I simply don’t remember.”
“I see. Youve lost yourself throughout the years. The people you thought cared, they left like you feared.” Said Snail.
“Yes, I even knew when the day was near. I’m all
alone now. I even let go anyone that stayed out of fear that they would leave too. I only had a few, I thought I knew them,” Frog croaked, about to cry.
“I’m here,” whispered snail gently.
“I know. But for how long?”
Snail knew frog had a point.
“As long as you need me, Frog. Until the day comes where we must depart from this universe, or simply as long as you desire to have me around.”
Frog looked at snail, “you’d do that for me?” tears filled his eyes, “for someone you just now met?”
