James pours the freshly strained pasta back into the pot and begins stirring in his homemade sauce as he hears the apartment door open and close.

“Hey babe” James call to no response. “Babe?” James walk into the living room and sees Eric sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. Eric eventually looks up at James with tear filled eyes.

“I need to tell you something.” James crouches in front of Eric and grabs his hands.

“You can tell me anything.” Eric pulls his rough hands from James and places them in his lap. Jame reaches for Eric’s faces and wipes a tear from his cheek.

“Eric, I’m here what is it?”

“You’re in danger.”

“What do you mean I’m in danger? In danger from what?”

“I’ve been lying to you about me, about what I do, about what I am.”

“Eric you’re starting to scare me!”

“I’m… I have enemies. Dangerous ones and for my whole life I’ve kept my two lives separate. The city boy who sells books and… I thought I was careful, I’d always been careful but the I met you.” Eric cups James’ face in his hands. “I never had someone like you before so I didn’t think about the consequences. I don’t know how but they found out about us.”

“Who found out about us?”

“Everet.”

“Who is Everet.”

“Not who but what. They are a criminal organization that is attempting to start World War IV. I’ve been able to stop them before but now my only concern is keeping you safe.”

“Eric who are you? James stares through unfallen tears as he sits beside Eric. “Are you like some spy or FBI person?”

“No!” Eric chuckles. “No nothing so official.”

“Then who?”

“When I was a kid I always knew when something was gonna happen but I just thought it was intuition or deja vu. When I started ‘seeing’ multiple outcomes I knew I was special. Then the speed and strength came and there was no denying it.”

“No.”

“Yes my love, I am Foresight.”
