POEM STARTER

Every day, a person goes to a flower shop and buys the same peculiar flower.

Write a poem about this person and their flowers.

Sunny And Sunflowers

Day 1 - First encounter

———

“I there anything I can help you find?” Elijah asked the shopper.

“Oh! Um, yes!” Sunny blushed slightly. “Where do you keep the sunflowers?”

“So, you’re gonna walk to the back and turn right. They are on the third shelf next to the daisies,” Elijah explained.

“Thank you!” Sunny smiled.

“Is that all for you today?” Melody asked as she scanned the sticker on the plastic bag holding the sunflower.

“Yep,” Sunny pulled out his money and paid.

Sunny knocked on the door to his friend’s apartment.

“Hey,” Xavier opened the door.

“OMG!! AHHHHH!!!! I CAN’T!!!!” Sunny yelled.

“Are you okay? What happened?” Xavier looked to the panicking boy in front of him.

“So, you know how you asked me to get a sunflower so you had something to decorate the table with for Friendsgiving? Well, I went to the flower shop on Frost Avenue and the one worker was so handsome and pretty and AHHHHHH!” Sunny quickly explained.

“So you’re panicking because you saw a pretty boy?” Xavier laughed.

“SHUT IT!! JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A LONELY CAT LOVER DOESN’T MEAN YOU GET TO BULLY MEEEEE!!” Sunny frowned bit then laughed a little.

“Just come inside,” Xavier held the door open for Sunny.

Day 2 - A flower for me

———

Sunny went to the flower shop again. He tried to say he just needed a center piece for his table, but deep down he knew he just wanted to talk to the pretty boy.

“Hello again!” Elijah smiled to Sunny.

“Hi!” Sunny peeped and covered his face trying to hide his blush.

“Just this today?” Melody didn’t look up from the cash register.

“Yes!” Sunny said with a smile.

“Cash or card?” Melody asked, looking up. “Oh, didn’t you come in to get a sunflower yesterday too?”

“Yes, I did,” Sunny tried not to blush as he remembered his reason for coming back in. “Also, card,” he swiped his card and left.

-

“Hey, Elijah?” Melody asked while on lunch break.

“Yeah?” Elijah replied.

“Did you see the boy who came in yesterday and today?” Melody questioned.

“Yeah, why, what about him?” Elijah then looked at Melody.

“I just wonder why he came in two days in a row and bought the same flower both times,” Melody took a bite of her salad.

“Oh, he bought a sunflower again?” Elijah inquired.

“Yeah, how do you know what he got?” Melody continued eating her lunch.

“He asked where the sunflowers were yesterday and you said he got the same thing today, so, I assumed he got a sunflower,” Elijah explained.

“Bro, you have forgotten my name. HOW DID YOU REMEMBER HE GOT A SUNFLOWER?” Melody furrowed her brows.

“Because he is the prettiest boy I’ve ever seen,” Elijah subconsciously mumbled.

“Ooooh, someone has a crush!” Melody teased.

“Shut up!” Elijah blushed.
