STORY STARTER

Submitted by Lizzie Rose.

'When I was little, I used to lay outside and reach my hands up to the sky above, convinced I could touch the great moving clouds if I just extended my arms a little further...'

Plane Ride

To be above the clouds

looking at the stars

impossibly bright

so close, yet so far

is to be on top of the world

Almost as if I can reach out

and use the Big Dipper

for my next meal

Constellations I’ve never seen

are within my grasp

A sea of clouds beneath me

Skating on by

on an invisible skating rink

I marvel at the sky

On this aerial path

it’s like I’m a part

of this ever changing canvas

and I never want it to end

(I wrote most of this on a plane ride in my reminders app because for some reason, I never use my notes app for writing purposes!)
