POEM STARTER
How could something so small take up so much space in my heart?
Compose a poem inspired by this question.
Worth A Thousand Words
_They say a picture _
_Is worth a thousand words,_
_Maybe even more…_
This pocket-sized portrait,
This photo in my hands,
A representation of the
Greatest days of my life…
_The days I was with _
_You…_
It’s just a simple picture,
Us before a sunset,
Fingers intertwined,
Hearts intertwined,
_Even our very souls_
Were intertwined.
This moment wasn’t
Unique,
Together we saw
Many sunsets,
But this was our first…
_The most memorable…_
_The moment I really fell in love with you…_
It may be
Just a picture,
But it says
More than I
Ever could.
“I _love_ you.”
Three words
That I couldn’t bring myself to say…
Three words
That haunt me to this day…
So many feelings
Locked inside this photo,
Ones that never got the chance
To be expressed.
_Love…_
_Affection…_
_Care…_
So many feelings
We could’ve shared.
_But neither of us ever_
_Cared to…_
I wish I could
Turn back time
And speak the words
Held in this photo
To you,
To your face.
You were so special,
But I let you go,
Now all I have to show
For years of affection
And romance
Is a pocket-sized portrait…
How could something _so small_
Take up _so much_
Room in _my heart?_
It may be small,
But when I didn’t speak,
This photo said it all…
