POEM STARTER

Submitted by SmileyGuitar

Write a poem that starts in a cheerful, bright mood, but then reveals underlying anger or bitterness.

Captivated

Honey hair and the bluest eyes

Eyes that could make me fall in love

Or just fall

Sweet smiles present themself on your lips every so often

Long enough for me to stare in awe

Then look away

I find myself drowning in your prescense

Blissfully suffocating on desire

Burning alive in the flames that my heart cant unignite nor forget

Im falling far too fast now

Faster than I can stop myself

Faster than you can catch me

Faster than I can survive

My gaze holds a bitterness when it catches yours

You are drowning me

Killing me from the inside out

Unaware of the power you hold in your hands

I hate your presence

My core shakes at the feeling of you around

Screaming in all its glory for you to leave me

Alive

Begging for your mercy

All while holding a knife behind my back

So when you finally set me free from my cage

I can end what held me prisoner
