POEM STARTER
Gratitude
Write a poem in any style, about what you're grateful for today.
Ta Everso
Every time I wake up my life begins anew,
The serene melody of birdsong from my window comes through.
With every breath a gift of a love that’s forever true,
As the spirit in me is the same as the spirit in you.
Thank you for everything I’ve went through in life,
The good, the bad, the nights I had to die to only learn how to survive.
I kept going no matter how many knives were sticking out of my spine,
They all taught me that whatever happens, happens as long as I’m still alive.
Where every breath I breathe is a moment to embrace,
The timeless days as the sunrise and moonlight dance with infinite grace.
Every breath is a reminder of our destiny and fate,
That one day this breath will be the last one we take.
Every challenge is an opportunity to stop and learn,
That every experience is a lesson to be grateful for.
Every happy moment a window, every painful memory a door,
To walk through and see we already have all that we need, but we’re still stuck always looking for more.
We think if we get enough of what we want,
If we get rid of the parts we don’t.
Then maybe happiness will become our home,
Home is our illusions that we live in entombed.
We need to break the walls down and finally see,
That we’re already free as free as can be.
Freer than the birds freer than flowers and bee’s,
We just need to fall to our knees, feel the breeze, live now and seize.
The moment and all that it can be and is,
The touch of a lover, winds in our hair, all the fleeting moment we always seem to miss.
Pain, suffering, brain unnerving, warmth of the sun, a moment in bliss,
Where a simple thank you floats on the wings of a promise.
Thank you for all that I am,
For this live that was freely given, to all men, women and children.
Thank you for the lesson often hidden and,
Thank you for the wisdom to learn them and rewrite our lives unwritten!!
Ta Everso!
