POEM STARTER
"She dropped her dress, and her inhibitions, at the door."
This is an example of a syllepsis, where the meaning of a verb (here 'dropped') is both physical and metaphorical. Write a poem that includes a syllepsis (do not use the example).
Opening The Door
He opened the door and his heart to her
He build her a home and they grew more closely together
In all those years when they were strangers
Now they speak with each other so familiarly
They live together and spend time together
They got close with each other
He let her in metaphorically and physically
They are now more than friends
To know someone so long and join together
To break that wall and belong with each other
Destiny works in mysterious ways
They cherished their moment
And now are trying to be with each other every day
Hand in hand they walk the same path
Cherishing the memories and beloved moments they will hold on forever
For only a little push to break out of their routine
They matched well and are an adorable couple
As cute as can be
