The house is dark, quiet
Children are crying
Adult’s laughter has now faded into serious conversations
What once was happy is now melancholy
The rooms are cold
Objects casting large strange shadows
There is hate and sorrow in the air
Something is missing
Something to lighten up the house
Something that is gone for awhile
Something that is cold and unmoving
Alone on a table
The lamp sits
