STORY STARTER
Write a story or poem from the voice of someone who is jealous.
Miss Attention
Look at her.
All dazzled up…
“Just be yourself.”
And okay well, I did.
Now I have to apologize.
Because your girl got on my last nerve.
And I had to knock her hairline back a bit.
I had to bring her back to the dirty floor.
From that throne she thought she owned.
If you ask me, she should’ve known.
Baby, my name was carved there.
This kingdom only thrives with me.
I’m in control. You know that.
Now don’t get me wrong!
I’m not mean for no reason.
I’ll always tell you why.
But ay, ‘tis the season!
I’m not jealous.
I’m just possessive.
I’m just protective.
I thought we covered the “mine” part.
So why are you with her, huh?
Now I’ve got to bring a bat.
You know those are heavy.
I’m talking heavy metal.
They don’t fit in purses.
Look at her.
Miss Attention.
Here’s a hammer.
“A hammer for what?”
Knock some sense into you too.
You apparently don’t know your place.
I know I talk a lot.
And I blab for no reason.
But you better find reason in this.
Or she won’t be around too much longer.
