She laughed at the mess she made. Nothing was going to plan, but it was absolutely perfect. After all, life isn’t perfect. We aren’t perfect. The mess sat around her, a chaotic mural around the art she was creating. She’d been tasked with bringing the welcome sign to life for a church weekend. The best weekend in the world, in her humble opinion.

This weekend wasn’t like any other. It was high energy with paint wars and group activities, but also mellow and thoughtful when the guest preacher was speaking. The worship sessions brought groups to tears, the prayer kneelers full. People sat down to bring themselves to God.

God was working. He was so present in this time. He knows exactly what and how things will go according to His will. The Lord helped this weekend come about through sheer determination and prayers from everyone. He had his hand laid over every single person in attendance. He was working, and she saw it. She opened her eyes during worship and marveled at the people who had their hands raised with praising, at the people who stood huddled together, holding one another. She saw how important this event was. She saw God’s grace.
