Fire On Fire

My eyes burn,

each blink a flame,

The dormant embers,

Finally ablaze.

The coals carve down my cheeks,

Falling to my fingers,

As I fall to my knees,

It won’t burn out, it lingers.

The blood burns,

My hands dripping,

My face carved open,

Eyes rolling,

As the girl,

who was water,

For all this time,

Learned to burn.
