The Favourite Child

Write a story or poem centered around this theme.

Golden Perfection

Golden brow laid in sunlight

Hair blazing bright as a roaring fire

Sleeping in a silver cradle

She was born a master piece

Each step a declaration of beauty

She walks with elegance to her right

Grace follows on the left

She wore them as jewels

With a crown of glass dripping her blood

The light reflecting on her head

Hide her tear streaks

The hall was hers

An inheritance of her sacrifices

For she was perfect

Even when she stumbled

A husk of a human

Burned by the burdens of perfection

A child is only the favorite when they learn to bleed unflinching

So as she graces her presence

Following the trail of sunlight

She was born a child

Raised to be golden

A figurine of her parents design

A representation of her siblings

She was raised to carry the burden of perfection

That was the favorites burden
