I prayed that this was one of my smaller mistakes. Like those blueberries I stole earlier for Aelin. I ran my hands over my face.

I didn’t see Aelin all morning now that I think about it. I left first thing in the morning, I let her sleep in. I didn’t actually see her in- _No. _

They can’t have taken her — not my little sister. I should have no left her. I should have not-

"You’re free to go," the guard unlocked the cell and opened it, gesturing for me to go outside.

Oh. Nevermind then.

I cautiously step out and they lead my out of the building.
