The Demon At My Door Pt. 4
When I did, I immediately took action darting in front of the cage to see what lock was used. One that could be picked with a hairpin, most definitely. I jumped back into the bushes before the hunter saw me. I opened my bag to look for a hairpin. I always used hairpins so there had to be at least one in my bag. Luckily, there was one.
When I looked back up, I saw the hunter leaving to go do who knows what. Hopefully he woulf be gone long enough got me to free Ember. I ran out of the bushes, heading for the cage again.
As soon as I got to the lock, I stuck the pin inside the keyhole. My mom had tought me how to pock locks when I was little, so that came in handy right now. After a couple minutes of struggling, the lock popped open. At least I didn’t have to get anything to cut the lock now. I was very close to doing that.
The cage door open slightly. I looked around, still no hunter luckily. I stepped inside the cage, making sure not to go fully in. I’ve seen enough horror movies to know never to do that now I had a clear view of Ember. She was bruised in many different spots on her arms. That fucking bastard! Now I wanted to kick his ass even more then I already did. Not yet though, I had to get Ember to safety.
I reached for Ember, gently touvhing her shoulder. When I made contact, she flinched massively, her hands moving over her head protectively. This made my heart ache. “Ember,” I started, my voice is quiet, but not a whisper. “Its me, Luna. I’m here to help.” Ember glances at me with tired eyes like she hasn’t slept to wink since the small amount last night.
“Come on, lets get you out of here, yeah?” Ember nods and lets me help her get up and out of the cage. When I looked back around, the hunter was only a fee steps away, glaring at me and Ember.
