WRITING OBSTACLE

Inspired by Lou

Describe the colour of a character's soul.

You do not have to tell the reader who the character is; focus on description and metaphor.

corruption (pt.1 prologue??)

Empty.

No, that can’t be right. Everyone has a soul. Without it, they would turn corrupt.

Oh no. Does that mean… my fate’s been sealed early? I’m getting sent off to the poor people island barely even sixteen? What’s wrong with these people?

The doctor looks at me in pure shock. “You’ve shown no signs of corruption whatsoever, maybe we should a— a double check!” The machine makes the terrible scanning noise once again. Nothing once more.

The soul is a part of the heart. The one that tells you what’s right and wrong. Without it, I’m… not human anymore. I’m a solaidi now, as they call it. All solaidi eventually turn corrupt and turn against humanity for simply being bullied too much? That’s all it takes to turn corrupt? Solaidi need to get less emotional…

“You need to get out of my office,” the doctor shouts. “Now!”

After I’m forced out of the building, I realize this is my life.

I’ll be humiliated by everyone. I’ll have no job opportunities in-person. It’ll be impossible to live life like this.
