WRITING OBSTACLE

Crackle. Pond. Night.

Write a description of a person or creature inspired by these three words. You may be as fantastical or realistic as you like. The words may inspire the description, or be used within it.

Life

Ponds.

They’re their own world, many animals and organisms live there, and have their own life in their own bubble.

They’re used as decorations, made to look pretty. They don’t move, connect, flow. These organisms live their until they die. All they knew was that pond.

I say no.

I want to live. Embrace our planet, explore cultures, learn languages. I want to embrace the gift of life with open arms.

I want to soak up the sun in California, brave the heat of India, dance in the streets of Rome. I want to kiss the cherry blossom trees in Japan, surf carnevous waves in Australia.

I want to see what this planet hides.

I want to feel alive.

I can’t be trapped in this bubble forever.

Being granted the power of a human being, a beating heart, two bottle sized lungs and a brain in which curiosity meanders throughout it every day. I must live the life that I have.

Freedom, a gift that if I’m granted, I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Staying in my pond, sitting still. Life going at a constant rate. That’s not a humans purpose. If god gave humans life, there must be a purpose!

One day. In the future, I will live, I will get out of my pond, I will breathe in the freedom that will soon flow through my veins, and I will live.

Live through the night and day.

Because this is my life.

Only one life,

This time,

I am going to live.
