POEM STARTER

Paranoid
On my own searching
Clumps of hair falls out every time I run my fragile hands through
Sinking into your soul
Visions going blurry
I want to restart
Static pulsing through my veins
My ears are shot, they just ring
You’re paranoid
I want to restart
Going back through temptation
Your head drops and swings.
You wanted things to change.
You’re paranoid.
Staring down
Going numb
You’re paranoid.
The needle feels better
Your living for the thrill
It fills a void deep down
Your diaphragm gets filled with poison
Eyes shaking
Your knees buckle trying to get up
To finally be a parent.
The phone is ringing you can’t stand it
You try
But fail
Your lungs are punctured
Bleeding through your ribs
Death keeps cheating on my life
Your child has to pick up your used needles
Only to grow up and do the same thing
We all look the same in the dark.
