The school day started just like any other crazy day

Books and knapsacks and lunches are packed away

Hallways are jammed with students and a certain boy

He stood off to the side trying not to be a little coy

He the one standing alone had held my heart for a time

He looked sheepish and shy but deep down he was mine

We had sat together in all the classes in the earlier years

The eyes to match and a smile that made the girls loudly scream

Deep from the city where he lived and moved to our little small town

Everyone knows you and your dog and the mailman never does frown

This fresh out of town face was the haunt in my head of a secret crush

Thinking about this fact of how cute is he turned my teenage mind to mush

Once the crowd in the hall has finally parted and I was left all alone to wait
