POEM STARTER

Submitted by Robin Marlowe

Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer.

Hail Lake Effect

I’ve always loved the idea of lake effects

I knew what I was signing up for when I went upstate

I guess I didn’t realize

It got quite so bad up there

Maybe worse than down here in the ole’ island.

A tropical storm

Or a hurricane in the summer

That makes sense.

It gets confusing when it gets so cold

Your fingers might freeze

And hail the size of gumballs

(Not the biggest hail I’ve heard of but still can hurt)

With pouring rain mixed in.
