POEM STARTER
Write a poem about taking a gamble.
Your interpretation can include the classic ideas associated with gambling, or something more metaphorical.
Enabler
Such a high price
the roll of a dice
A fickle game of chance
a deadly little dance
The stakes are high,
higher than the sky
Is this risk worth it?
You could always cheat
Just don’t get caught,
go and shoot your shot
It can be our secret,
so don’t you fret
I won’t tell a soul,
it’s all under my control
The reward, it’s so good
If I were you, I would
So take a gamble,
let’s hope this doesn’t end in shambles
Cross your fingers,
I hope this feeling lingers
The anxiety of the unknown,
on your face it’s clearly shown
What a price to pay…
so, are you willing to play?
