POEM STARTER
Write a poem that is grotesquely romantic.
This could mean a poem thatโs overly lovey-dovey, one that has a romantic theme but grotesque imagery, or something else altogether.
Lie.
You tore out my heart,
Kissed it tenderly,
And stitched it back
Into my chest.
My blood stains your hands,
My DNA dances around your skin,
But instead of showering it off,
You embraced it without rest.
A gentle prick on my finger,
Makes me warm up inside,
Inject your poison in my veins
And on my world, you cast your sunshine.
You could gouge out my eyes,
Or leave my brain lobotomized,
And Iโd still believe youโre my everything,
Could cut me deep inside,
Fill my stomach with butterflies;
Iโd still want you to be my valentine.
Forever yours,
Forever mine,
Until with death, I lie.
