POEM STARTER
Write a poem that only involves dialogue.
Remember dialogue has to be between two or more people; it cannot be a monologue. Try to make it clear which voice is speaking when.
First Date
“Did you like the movie?” she asked me with a grin,
“Truth be told,” I replied, “the plot was rather thin.”
“That’s part of its beauty,” my date starts to retort,
“A chance to switch off mentally, it’s like watching a sport.”
“You did not just say that?” I ask, incredulous,
“Sport has depth, but this crap, I couldn’t care less.”
“It’s _could_ care less,” she corrects me incorrectly,
“No, my care _could not_ be lower, I said it perfectly.”
“I don’t think that this will work,” she finally shows some sense,
“I think we can agree on that,” then our own way we went.
Before I get two steps I hear, “if you want to find someone groovy,
Maybe next time don’t take them to see a Marvel movie.”
