Waking up with no recollection of the night before, these three objects help you peice together how you ended up here...
Pounding Silence
My head is pounding as color and sound slowly seep back into the world around me. I’m lying on soft, sticky grass.
Why is it sticky?
My hand is full of that stickiness as i raise it to my face to get a better look. Red stains all the crevices of my palm.
Why is my head pounding?
I slowly push myself off the ground and take in my surroundings. I’m in the middle of a field as far as the eye can see. Lying on the grass next to me is a bike tyre.
Why in the world is there a bike tyre?
I reach down to grab the tyre and suddenly see my reflection in a small mirror attached to it. My hair is ruffled and full of knots, my forehead is covered in that same red on my hand, and as I look closer, I spot something near my mouth. It’s some stain of white. Milk, I realize and wipe it off.
Why is there milk?
My head begins pounding harder as if it’s trying to remember something. I shut my eyes to the pain and fall to my knees. It’s too much. Then it’s gone. The pounding, the pain. And I remember. I remember it all. And how it all started because of the Bible.
