The Key
I sit tight through the night and ponder,
As I look to the trees for answers,
In the loving embrace of nature.
Eyes closed, hands feeling, taking in the texture
Of the bark and the earth together.
Can it be a gift of the Gods? A miracle elixir?
My fingers trace the leaves; there’s a spark divine,
A flash of light, slightly lifting life’s veil,
Coded in nature's design.
Delicate branches reach out, connecting to my palms,
Passing on wisdom older than ancient catacombs.
Nurturing the life that blooms in our veins—
Palms, fingers, and hands,
The silent communicators in the dark,
Gifting one another respect and understanding
With every gentle touch of the heart.
Sharing stories embedded in the very cells of the earth,
A little mud mixed with dirt,
God's breath, the gift of life, the soul's birth.
Scaling the abyss between man and stranger,
In the cries of a broken heart that goes unheard.
Tears flow swift and relentless, like a razor
Against the life beneath fragile skin.
The heartbeat of life quickens; in the darkness,
Something listens. Trees glisten in magic
As angels bless the wind,
That ameliorates the hope where light dares not tread.
Questions linger in the chasm of the dead,
Hovering smoke from the fire within.
Answers blast off, a shot in the dark,
Bleeding the night out of sight.
Hairs on end, pulsing life’s memoir,
Pain falls away, fusing into a cicatrix.
Tween life and death, a moment of bliss,
The trees plants roots in the nexus,
Reaching deep within the cold, dark abyss,
Separation of the past we reminisce.
On what was, and it is what it is,
The life we live, we’ve been taught to dismiss.
Questions crumble to dust as I look to the trees for answers,
Like they are mystical oracles.
As we enter the same state of consciousness,
Worries become half of a waking miracle.
The merging of spirit in these silent sentinels,
Awakening the essence of our spiritual spiracles.
In the presence of the trees, we are reminded
That love is free, flowing through existence,
Between the breath of death and immortality.
The universe is but a door, and we are the key!
