Beaches Without Water
When the ocean dried up we didnt cry
For our tears would never fill
The dry abyss that stretched ahead
Our boat would never float again
Puddles may pile
One on top of another on top of another
However the old wooden beast
Was gone for good
Red and yellow striped socks are soggy
Our crew is scrutinized by the sky
A flashlight cuts through a foggy haze
Yet not quite sharp enough to see an edge
Is there really an edge after the ending
The end of the planets pain
Or maybe it’s just our perspective bending
The clouds chuckle and begin to rain
