POEM STARTER
The Revelation
Write a poem with a structured rhyme scheme, using this as the title.
The Revelation
It was love at first sight
Or so I thought
It should’ve activated fight or flight
I didn’t do what I ought
With her blood on my hands
Thinking I was the only one
But I can easily see where you stand
And you had just as much fun
Sure I’m not entirely innocent
And I shouldn’t have played the game
But you also put in your two cents
You and I are guilty just the same
I wish I saw it sooner
As nothing more than a trick
Giess I’m just a late bloomer
And you’re the blood-sucking tick
I was Sidney and you were Billy
And I wish it was never that
You made me feel all sweet and silly
Turns out you were a muderous rat
It only it were so simple
To wipe you from my brain
Because you never gave me a thimble
And I can’t stop the pain
But then I saw your face
And you looked so miserable
Things finally took a change of pace
And I was out of trouble
I can’t believe I fell for you
And let you drive me insane
But what’s the worst you could do
Especially now that I’m in your brain
You’re obsessed with me
Stalking every social media
And it feels me with glee
Like the first time I saw Acadia
Poor little you
With your stupid hats
And your ugly new do
You and your girl are a bunch of brats
Don’t ask me how I’m doing
I’m better than ever before
Know that I’m in the bleachers booing
So take your bags and fet out my door
