The Warmth In The Cold
The cold nipped at my nose, a harsh and unforgiving cold. I walked down the snow covered sidewalk towards people I hadn’t talked to in far too long. What would I say? What would anyone say really. But nonetheless I arrive, the blue townhouse looming over me. I hesitate before knocking, but something pushes me to do it. I stand there for what feels like forever, until the door creaks open. “Hi son,” my mother says, “it’s been too long.” Her smile is as warm as I remember.
