“I won’t cry” ,

“I don’t pretend”,

“No, I don’t mind”,

A fool or truly canny?

Because I could hear you

Expressing your doubts.

Boulders crushed your frail bones;

Trapped beneath the foot of god,

And you’ve never felt so there and so alone.

Don’t try to walk alone,

With your dolled-up mask that’s clearly flawed;

Why don’t you let your emotions roam?

“I don’t pretend”,

“I’m doing fine”,

Soon you’ll drop the act

in a blink of an eye,

“I don’t mind,”

“I won’t cry”,

And there it is:

The fanciest lie.
