Text Me When You Land
It all started at exactly 11:05 this morning, when I spilt my caramel latte all over his shoes. I apologised frantically, but he just laughed it off, introduced himself to me as Mark and asked me what Gate I was headed to, seeing as my bags looked pretty heavy and maybe it was the same direction as his gate. „H18!“ I had blurted out, blushing hard. „Oh, cool! I‘m at H19, so… wanna walk over together ummm…?“ I realised I‘d been staring and quickly looking away replied „Oh, right sorry. Alice.“ From that interaction we‘d gotten on amazingly, from getting more coffee together and Mark having a fit about how expensive coffee actually was and that not everyone was rich as hell. When I asked him what he did he said he was a software designer. He was on his way to america and I was going to germany to visit my sister. Even though I usually didn’t believe in love at first sight, seeing as it was a dumb stereotype,I definitely felt something for Mark that I‘d never felt for anyone before, some kind of feeling I had known him forever. We talked for what felt like minutes but really was hours, he told me about his favourite animals (hedgehogs for some reason) why autumn was superior to all other seasons and that guys should watch more chick flicks because they’re hilarious. Upon asking why he watched them, he said his little sister made him, so we were on the topic of families. From that it went to music, to hobbies, books… when the afternoon rolled around and the boarding for my flight started I felt like a part of my soul was being torn out. „Well… I guess this is goodbye then. I‘ll miss you Alice. And I know that that might be weird because we only just met, but… I think I really like you. Like _Like_ you. And…“ he continued rambling. I smiled before kissing him softly. I grabbed a pen whilst he still looked dumbfounded and scribbled my number on his arm. „Call me! I like like you too Mark.“ He waved shyly until I went around the bend into the tunnel on the plane and out of his sight. Not two minutes later when I was in my seat I saw a text. „Miss me yet?“ grinning to myself, I started to type a reply.
