POEM STARTER

Cleansing
Write a poem inspired by this theme.
Cleansing
I stand beneath the quiet sky,
No longer seeking reasons why.
The past, once gripping like a chain,
I rinse it free in gentle rain.
To cleanse the weight of dreams once tied
To hollow truths and wounded pride.
To wash away what was not mine—
The borrowed fears, the false design.
I let go now of what they said,
The ghosts that whispered in my head.
Forgiveness flows like morning light,
Not for their sake, but for my flight.
Mistakes once carved into my chest
Now rise like smoke, laid down to rest.
No shame remains, no bitter trace—
Just open hands, and sacred space.
I cleanse not to forget, but know
That healing means I still can grow.
With every breath, I start anew—
A soul once fractured, now pulled through.
