STORY STARTER
Write about an event from the point of view of three different characters.
The event can be anything - although try to keep it concise - and you should try to make each point of view clearly different from the others.
A Tale Of Triplets
Mandy sat her three daughters down. Veronica, Cynthia, and Jacque.
“Here’s what I’m going to do,” she smirked, “I’m going to talk to you all separately, one at a time. We’ll see where you really were tonight.”
The girls looked at each other in panic, “Alright Cynthia your up first! Jacque and Veronica, go to separate rooms— and I will know if you came up with a scheme.”
The girls gulped, and Cynthia sat down in front of mom as the other two ascended up the stairs.
“Well,” she sighed nervously, “it all started with this boy— Evan. He was so tempting… I shouldn’t have done it… but I did.”
Mom leaned it, “Did… what?”
“I- we-“ she swallowed, “got a couples massage.”
“Why were you out all night? And so afraid to tell me?”
“Well that’s not all. After that, we went to a hotel room… and you know, teenagers, hormones…”
“Cynthia! I raised you better then that! I don’t even know this boy!”
“That’s not all…” she looked around, any possible way to get out of this terror. “Then we kind of… went to a party… with college kids.”
“Cynthia!”
“I know! I know!”
“But wait,” mom wondered, “how were your sisters involved?”
“I’m getting to it!” she continued, “Well, after the party we started walking home, which was when we ran into Jacque with a frat boy from the party. She was drunk, and that was also when I found out Evan is a sophomore… in college.”
“I knew she was drunk! And wait— you did that with an adult! Your seventeen! And why weren’t you with your sisters!”
“I don’t know! It’s Friday, we party on Friday! Sometimes separately!” she proceeded, “Okay, so then we went to Waffle House, and no matter how much coffee we gave Jacque, she was still sloppy. Moving on, we then went to some casual hangout with more teenagers… mostly teenagers… anyway, that’s when we saw Veronica! She was really getting busy!”
“WHAT?!”
“Yeah! She had like five guys wrapped around her finger! Anyway, some guy started a fire, we met a monkey, then a few hours later I went home only to have my mother interrogate me!”
“What happened to the deadly fear I put in your head?” mom gave Cynthia the death stare, then it was Veronica’s turn.
“Please, sit.” mom motioned, “Start from the beginning.”
“Well, it all started with this girl, Kailey.”
“Mhm?”
Veronica continued, “She’s my friend, she graduated last year and we’ve been friends for awhile. So, she has these friends and we all went over to her house. I swear! I did not know who would be there! I didn’t know there would be, like, twelve hunks!”
“Veronica! Just as men should respect you, you should respect them!”
“Whatever,” she rolled her eyes.
“Veronica!”
“Anyway, before I knew it I was in love with all of them! I couldn’t choose!” she fell back against the pillow, “Next thing I know, my siblings show up! Can’t say I’m complaining, they really incresed both the volume and fun!”
“Okay?”
“But,” she sighed, “Turns out one of the hunks was actually quite stupid and left a lot cigarette on the couch. Boom! Fire!”
“Did you call the Firemen?”
“Yes, mom! We did! Anyway, we started walking down the street, and there was this weirdo selling monkeys… of course, Kailey bought one. He ran away though, how sad!”
“Is that… all?”
She nodded, and next up was Jacque.
“Heyyy mommm…” she slurred, falling on the couch.
“Want to tell me what happend?” mom said.
“Well,” she giggled, “I lost it…”
“Lost what?”
“You know,” she giggle, “The biggie.”
“Oh—“
“Yeah andddd there was a monkeyyy”
“Is that all?”
“Yesss.” Jacque slurred drunkenly.
