POEM STARTER
"Deep down, you're really shallow"
Paradox - a phrase which would appear to contradict itself, but makes metaphorical sense. Write a poem that starts and ends with a different paradox.
How funny
The more I learned the less I knew
Flipping through pages I didn't understand
not even a few
One day I decided I wanted to know everything
I wanted to gain knowledge
I wanted to be wise
But wise in what
Time would pass by as I questioned what to do
Grateful that I stumbled across you
You showed me
how to Learn new things that many wouldn't want to
I thought it was interesting
How much I could learn about certain things
How flowers grew
And why the sky was so blue
Why birds sing
And butterflies dance
Why birds fly South when the wind takes its chance
I learned what it means to live
And give
But most of all I learned that not knowing is ok
Sometimes it's ok to save knowledge for the next day
So although I felt that I had learned so much there was more to know
And now I know that I know nothing at all
