In this world, everyone is so unbelievably obsessed with never growing older that most of them make their children take medications to prevent them aging. The pills weren’t a problem until the Incident of ‘37 happened.

_SIDE EFFECT ONE — BUYER FOUR HAS VOMITED OUT THEIR VITALS._

Not many questioned how dangerous the pill was— after all, looking old was a crime against humanity as a whole. However, the observant few would try to sue the company, with multiple failures occurring. Some noticed these issues, but didn’t have the courage to speak up. Within just a few hours, their twentieth buyer had come around, and they would see if any of their buyers had complained.

_SIDE EFFECT TWO: BUYER TWELVE HAS EXPERIENCED EXTREME HALLUCINATIONS, CAUSING HIM TO GO INSANE._

The sellers didn’t care. Nobody else would speak up if they started to ignore the cries. All they would want was money— but that meant they would have to tackle at least some of the issues of the thing. If not growing up meant the customers had to die, why would they take such a risky move? And what would happen to the sellers if they couldn’t sell anything?

_SIDE EFFECT THREE: BUYER THIRTY-TWO WAS ASLEEP FOR OVER A WEEK._

Whatever was happening, someone would surely have to pay attention to these effects. And nobody did— until a doctor, ironically old, came by to review the pill.

_REVIEW: PILL IS UNSAFE. ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED._

The sellers were… confused. It seemed only three of their buyers had side effects, so why would they worry about the little people when life could be so much better for those with strong immune systems? Then, the doctor had said:

_THOSE WITH THE STRONGEST IMMUNE SYSTEMS ARE CHILDREN, BUT OLDER PEOPLE WILL WANT THESE, NOT LITTLE CHILDREN._

That was it. For ten years, there was no anti-aging pill, no telling of what the folks could do, no hope. But when the pill came out again, only one person had a side effect.

_SIDE EFFECT ONE: BUYER ONE HUNDRED THIRTY EIGHT PASSED OUT FOR TWO DAYS._

Everything fell into place. The sellers were finally making the money they felt they deserved. The greedy people of the world had all they wanted, none they truly needed. They felt they would try their pill, their hard work.

_THEY BOTH DIED SOON AFTER._
