POEM STARTER
Write a poem from the point of view of an eye who has seen too much.
Cage in a hall
Under the table I sit Two figures screaming
Another pleading for an end
All I feel is hunger and fear
Brought into a home I don’t belong I digress
Passing moments of calm before the storm Screens lit up as a child plays
An older woman sits meticulously Knitting her thread
Stomps come from above And another round begins
The child grabs my scruff And brings me to safety
A woman screams Bearing purple As I am put in the cage in a hall
