He looks away

It’s so close to summer, I should ask. Shouldn’t I? But something’s holding me back. What?

He turns around to look at me & I unconsciously start to smile. He returns the smile & turns back around.

My heart does a flip inside, & I inwardly scold myself for already have emotionally attached myself to him. Really, Luna? You barely know the guy!

Yeah… but I’d love to get to know him.

I can barely concentrate in class, & it doesn’t help that my eyes jump up at whatever movement he makes. Maybe sitting next to him was better than sitting behind him. Hell- who am I kidding?? Sitting next to him is definitely better than sitting anywhere else.

& yet, there’s no chance that’s happening. I can’t just switch w/ the guy next to him & expect him to not notice. I could claim I do better in the front (technically, I do), but it’s not like I’m blind or anything. It’s also not like I’ll be any less distracted next to him. I’ll be more distracted, probably lol. Especially front & center? Yeah, there’s no way that could go well…
