POEM STARTER
Write a poem about the first time you did something.
New experiences are often thought-provoking. Try to stay away from obvious first times and go for something unusual.
First Time In The Shop
The first time I worked on a car,
my hands trembled- but my heart was a star .
Steel and chrome, grease on my skin,
A whole new world I was stepping in.
The hood rose like a stage light beam,
And I stood there chasing a brand new dream.
Sanding and masking, fixing the bend-
It wasn’t just metal, it was my new friend.
Eager eyes beneath a welding mask,
Each tool a teacher, each bolt a task.
I listened close, I watched each move,
hungry to learn, with something to prove.
I sanded a fender, taped off a light,
my hands got dirty but it felt so right.
I wasn’t just fixing a dent or a line,
It felt like this thing could actually be mine.
That day changed me, flipped a switch,
From curious girl to collision witch.
No turning back, this path feels right—
Building my future, one dent at a time.
