_“Deine Augen sind wunderschön”_

When you said that to me, I wasn’t sure what to say.

I looked at you, confused and blank faced.

Smiling you begin to tell me why,

You really _really_ love my eyes.

You say they sparkle when I smile,

They dance in the light.

A brown so warm that it shines through the night.

That the lashes are long, gentle, petite.

That you’ve never seen eyes that looked quite so sweet.

Like chocolate candy, like hot coffee cake,

Like the feeling you get, when the earth starts to break, away from your feet and turns into heaven, blessed and holy, gentle, divine,

You say there’s no one you would rather call mine.

With a heart of gold and eyes deep brown, so deep you already know deep down, there is no one you’ll ever love the way you love me,

And honestly honey, that’s fine with me.

Note: aaaaand now you know I have brown eyes.

(I think that’s the most common eye colour there is 😅) but isn’t it funny how the right person can make something that small and boring seem so beautiful?
