POEM STARTER
Submitted by C.C Charlie
Write a poem about someone on their way to face their enemy.
An unusual theme for poetry; see how you can portray rivals and conflict in poetic form.
Enemy—Not Me
Silence
It filled the room
With its
Void
The wood floor
Creaked
The light
Flickered
All I could do
Was
Walk
Forward
And continue to stare
At the glass before
Me
It’s was silver, such an innocent silver
The women told me
That I’d find my enemy in here
So why is there only this
Silver?
My reflection stared back at me
Dull
Tired
Caught on drugs
But I couldn’t be my own
Enemy
I was helping myself
Gorging down on the life I had left
And so I ran
As far away as I could, from the house
Trying to convince myself that the women was
Wrong
But if she was wrong…
Why did I
f l e e ?
