WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a descriptive paragraph about a predator.
Think about the meanings of the word predator - it could be an animal, a person, a completely fictional being, or something more metaphorical.
The Squirrel
The whisperer of lies and the maker of mischief. He is never himself when in front of others, and he has no intention of ever revealing himself either.
This squirrel specializes in crafting poison for his adversaries, and not literal poison, just words with brilliant chemistry. In fact, it’ll look a lot like medicine, and he can sell it to anyone. He can do it as a politician, an attorney, a judge, a military officer or any authority figure (yes a doctor or nurse too), and that’s top level, he could sway and twist the mind of an average being if he really wanted to. To put it simply, he can do it to anyone.
He preys upon everyone’s fears, exploits their egos, turns sights into illusions, and he does it with precision like no other. He’ll reshape their reality, which then becomes the physical world. It’s a process he knows all to well, and will never discontinue.
You see, he may look like prey himself, but he never was, he’s always been a predator, and he doesn’t have to be one in order for his works to be accomplished, because his words are a disease, and it’s meant to provoke the action he desires, should that being succumb to it. Once they have, that disease will break down a beings morality, and it’ll keep spreading until they acquire the “medicine.”
The squirrel will rarely use violence, to him it’s only necessary if someone knows too much. So whenever you find yourself within his circle, beware of his claws.
He will make himself prey intentionally, looking innocent, vulnerable, or even broken. You would have to spot the predator within to know his true diet, but no one ever has.
Behold, the only known predator that is also prey, one that consumes trust, hope, love, and unity, turning it into doubt, futility, hate, and discord, leaving the scraps behind for everyone to either share or fight for. It’s his way and his life’s purpose, to test the world’s judgement, whether it will plant new seeds or start a wildfire in its home. His name is [REDACTED].
