POEM STARTER
Paper boats, the scent of lemons, and tears.
Use these descriptors as inspiration for a poem.
innocence
Paper boats
The scents of lemons
And tears
Smell that bring back
The memories I fear
The smell of detergent
And dirt under my nails
The rustic tinge in the air
I’d never be the same
I remember seeing red
And the all I saw was black
A weird thud followed me hitting my head
And now I won’t dare to look back
I force myself to therapy
“How were you this week”
I just was to sigh and then swear her out
But all I do is internally say
“Bitch please,”
“Not today, not tomorrow, not in 10 years”
My past in the past
It’s dead and gone and buried
And I have no regrets of leaving behinds my tears
Lemons
Paper boats
And tears
Never hurt me
When I was innocent
