POEM STARTER

‘It came to me like snails come to gardens: ready to consume.’

Write a poem that begins with this line.

the snail

it came to me

like snails come to gardens

ready to consume,

and so lonely

holding a shell of burdens

heavy as a tomb

it followed me

like the wake of a sailboat

trailing like a kite

flying so free

bouncing buoys, afloat

stark against the night

“bouncing buoys, afloat

stark against the night”

These are amazing lines that evoke imagery! You should be so proud :D

My only recommendation would be to add more punctuation like commas to give your poem a rhythm. But, this poem is fantastic! Good job <3

Fantastic imagery
