“Im still here…”

I whisper

I’m slumped in the dirt

Listening to the world move around me

“I’m still here”

I whimper

I tilt my head up and look at the candle

It burns bright as if its never caused any harm

“I’m still here!”

I cry

The fire burns bright in my vision

His screams fill my ears, my head!

“IM STILL HERE”

I sob

I remember the night sky

Fire

It was everywhere

I couldn’t get out

I watched him burn

I watched him die

I watched the light leave his eyes

To be consumed by the fire

I had cried out

Then slumped to the dirt floor

Sat there sobbing

Waiting for the fire to come

Waiting for it to consume me

To send me with him

But i was dragged away from the flames

Red and blue flashing around me

“I’m still here”

I mumble to the outline of the smoke

“Please…

I need you here to…”
