If only this world had shown me a little mercy, I might have gone a different way. I could have turned right when it was still possible. I could have walked forward, not backward.Yet time has passed, and back then, there was no mercy for me.Why were they treated better, those marvellous characters, freshly taken out of books? They had happy endings, love, and mercy, while I have been left with only decency.

Is it too much to ask for?

Maybe it is my fault that Prince Charming lost his way to me.Maybe my tower was too tall, perhaps even surrounded by water on all sides.

Is there any mercy left for me in this world, or did all the fairy-tale creatures selfishly take it for themselves?
