I used to be scared of fire

it's heat and power to burn

you couldn't control it,

not in my little toddler brain

it wasn't as cool as water

although there were some moments

church campfires with praises at night

making s'mores with just a flick of light

but then a single candle was fine

it was controlled; only one flame

three brothers walked through a furnace

with another, and they came out alive

and if they had faith so strong to face it

then why should I continue to fear the fire
