POEM STARTER
Mysteries of the Night
Whether something natural and beautiful like the stars, or something more sinister, write a poem that focuses on things that are most prominent at night.
Starless Sky
In a starless sky lays my one and only
Skin white but alive
Dead to the eyes but not to mine
Forever asleep in a box of vines
In a starless sky lays my one and only
Tired of living she was
Choosing to reside in the sky
Seated by thunder and lightning
She did
In a starless sky lays my one and only
Memories of us dead and buried
Empty like the night sky
Laughter racing away with the wind
In a starless sky lays my one and only
Sadness was hers
She didn't belong here
It would become her downfall
In a starless sky lays my one and only
A night darker than dark
Into the woods, she went
Life was just too hard
In a starless sky lays my one and only.
Death is after all of us
But my dear’s lungs ached
So she stopped
Like a hero she faced death
Did what us cowards wouldn't do
Only to turn up white and cold
Like ice in a mold
Another taken away by the woods
And sent into a starless sky
Where they all remain
Maybe the woods will take me too
Then I shall join you
And escape the nights that never brought the day...
In a starless sky.
