STORY STARTER

A fairytale character is dropped into this world.

How do they react? What do they find most difficult?

The Fae Who Fell

As Cordelia wandered through a forest as dark as a starless night, she stumbled upon some rocks that looked … well boring to say the least, In this world the rocks weren’t grey like these ones were, they were different colors of pinks, blues, greens, and even clear. When Cordelia picked them up they felt rough to the touch,

“Hmm” Cordelia though to herself

“I’ve never felt such a thing before” she would say out loud to the animals around her in the forest. In Dalson Koridge the rocks were never rough they were soft or smooth, some were even squishy. As she ordered the rocks from smallest to largest the ground beneath her feet began to rumble, a tree branch was knocked off from the pine next to her slicing her wing open. Cordelia’s face fell as she saw her slit wing.

“How am I supposed to get home? I can’t walk to where I live. Maybe I could call the dragons to help!” She thought to herself. She couldn’t even murmur a word before she was sucked underground, and into the vast darkness of the Dalson Koridge.

Cordelia fell quickly but maneuvered her body in a way to control her fall.

“How can I stop this fall as painless as possible?” Cordelia never payed attention in her flight safety class, especially the course about safe falling maneuvers, but now that really wouldve come in handy. She fell for hours seeing nothing but darkness untill she spotted a bright orb approaching her feet.

“I must be coming upon the ground” she was thinking. As the orb grew she could faintly see trees in the distance but they were different. Soon she popped out of the ground and looked around. These trees weren’t like her lands’s. Her land had Blue leaves with yellow as bark, and the honey that flowed was purple not this golden color she could see some vines consisted of faint Oranges too.

“… where am I?! This isn’t Dalson Koridge.” She thought frantically. Her breathe grew heavy and her eyes darted around she faintly heard creatures call out to her … or maybe they weren’t creatures … just … different from her. These fae with hidden wings would shout too her “nice cosplay!”, and “I love that outfit are those really Dahlias?”. She looked around wondering why these fae had no wings, she looked around the world she was in.

“It seems quite bland or in other words less adventurous as Dalson. I wonder if the fae here would fix it up.”. As she wandered the streets around this unfamiliar town, her feet led her to a pollen shop named the Lavender Lament, but instead of their pollen being yellow and shimmery like hers was in Dalson, it was brownish beigeish, she thought it was peculiar. Next she traveled to a leaf seller, except her manuscripts were usually on huge elephant leaves, and not on white thin flaps with leather as a protection cover. She wondered how these fae had lived like this for such an eternity. All she really wished for at this moment was to go home.

She searched high and low for the rocks she had before she fell. Yet most of them looked the same.then she saw some shimmer from her pereferal vision.

“Rocks like back at my home land” the sun started to lower on the horizon and she realized she couldn’t get back today. Maybe another time then, or never again would she see Dalson Koridge.

As the day passed on she noticed only one thing just as beautiful as her world. As she looked out to the horizon she saw hues of Orange, pink, red, and yellow.

“A sunset” she thought quietly

“At least these are the same back at home” she said with a smile. She wandered across the park to a park where she realized the trees didn’t have petal pods.

“Where will I sleep?” She thought as she stared in the trees.

“Can’t be that bad wothout a petal pod.” So she scaled the tree and slept on its branches for the night dreaming of how she would return to her homeland.
