Your interpretation can include the classic ideas associated with gambling, or something more metaphorical.
Deceit
Scrolling down the aisle of deceit
That is the lifeless brick in front of me,
I find myself face to face with a simple truth:
I've never thought about how much I could lose.
And I don't stop to ponder on it for long,
Because the thought is pushed out by another song.
It promises wealth and joy and pain,
So I let go of my mind again and again.
I gamble with time, with money, with hurt,
I try as I might to finish a verse.
All of my words come up empty to me
Nothing can express the pain of deceit.
