Unreasonable Weather
Writing Prompt: June 2 - "Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer."
"Well then, you should have brought an umbrella."
the raindrops snidely snip
'How could I have known, when sun was the plan,
but now you drip and drip?"
"I don't know why you wore a sweater"
the sunshine, backhand, protests
"How could I have seen, when it snowed last week,
that a tee-shirt would be best?"
"Boots would have been prudent"
the snowbanks mutter
"How could I have thought, in the midst of a drought,
that today, I'd frozenly sputter?"
As best they try, what the predictions boast
May or may not come together
Best wear it all, so as not to appall
This truly unreasonable weather.
