When the stars fell from the sky… I knew it was over. I had ignored all the signs before hand. When the mountains all crumbled into the sea? I dismissed it! When the skys filled with cicadas and grasshoppers and it was deafening. I just wanted to get a root beer from the corner store. As I am pushing through the insects, I look over and see Mrs Laninham shrugging her shoulder and gesturing towards me. I spit out a particularly large Cricket and out my head down ignoring her. When the plague killed 75% of the worlds population and 59% of that 75% turned 100% zombie, and I’m running home while trying to use Akim’s arm to beat Akim off me, did I appreciate Mrs Laninham shooting him like an assassin from her rooftop thereby saving my life? Well yes I did… and as I screamed thank you I also said that it doesn’t mean it’s over! But then last night… I saw the stars fall. And there was a darkness. And I couldn’t see Mrs Laninham. And I said. I guess it is over. I sat down in the dark and smiled. And I waited for the end….
